Surf Marketplace Listing Types Guide
Effective Date: 8 September 2025
Last Updated: 8 September 2025
This guide explains how providers should choose the correct listing type when creating a new surf offering on the marketplace. Each type has different booking rules so customers know exactly what they’re paying for.
While this guide is surf-focused, we’ve also included examples for other providers such as videographers and massage therapists.

- Quick Guide
1. Private Sessions (Hourly)
Listing type ID: listing_type_H
Use this for: 1-on-1 services, priced by the hour.
Customers pick the date, start time, and duration (e.g., a 2-hour session).
You get paid per hour, and bookings can only be made within the availability periods you set.
Example listings:
- Surf: 1-on-1 Beginner Surf Lesson – $40/hour
- Videography: Event Filming – $100/hour
- Massage Therapy: Deep Tissue Massage – $70/hour
2. Group Lessons (Fixed Session)
Listing type ID: listing_type_G
Use this for: Group sessions at set times, with limited spots.
You define the session length and price (e.g., 2 hours for $30 per person) and how many seats are available (e.g., max 8).
Customers book a spot in the session, and once all seats are filled, the session closes automatically.
Example listings:
- Surf: Saturday Beginner Group Lesson – $30 per person (max 8)
- Videography: Video Editing Workshop – $50 per person (max 6)
- Massage Therapy: Couples Massage Workshop – $90 per couple (max 5 couples)
3. Programs (Multi-Day Consecutive)
Listing type ID: listing_type_P
Use this for: Multi-day experiences that run back-to-back.
Customers select a start date and end date, and they are charged your daily rate × number of days (e.g., a 3-day training program).
You control which days are available in your calendar.
Example listings:
- Surf: 3-Day Surf Immersion – $120/day
- Videography: 4-Day Filmmaking Bootcamp – $150/day
- Massage Therapy: 3-Day Healing & Wellness Retreat – $200/day
4. Courses (Multi-Week Recurring)
Listing type ID: listing_type_C
Use this for: Courses that run once a week or on specific dates across multiple weeks.
Customers pay once for the entire course (e.g., every Saturday for 6 weeks).
You set the total course price, start date, and number of seats.
Customers book the course as a whole, not individual sessions.
Example listings:
- Surf: 6-Week Beginner Surf Course – Saturdays, $250 total
- Videography: 8-Week Cinematography Masterclass – Thursdays, $500 total
- Massage Therapy: 5-Week Introduction to Thai Massage – Mondays, $300 total
5. Camps (Overnight)
Listing type ID: listing_type_N
Use this for: Accommodation-based packages with included services.
Customers pick check-in and check-out dates, and you are paid per night (e.g., 7-night camp with daily activities).
You can offer private rooms or shared dorms by adjusting the number of seats available.
Example listings:
- Surf: Surf Camp – 7 nights with daily lessons – $80/night
- Videography: 3-Night Film Retreat – $150/night
