SurfKin uses Stripe Connect to securely handle all payments and payouts for our marketplace. Stripe ensures that your transactions are protected while making it easy for you to get paid directly to your bank account.

How Payments Work

  1. A customer books or purchases on SurfKin.
  2. Payment is securely processed by Stripe.
  3. Payments are automatically split, SurfKin deducts the platform Transaction fee.
  4. Your earnings are transferred directly to your bank account.

All payments are handled safely and in compliance with global financial regulations.


Getting Paid as a Seller

To receive payouts, you must connect your Stripe account:

  1. Create your seller account on SurfKin.
  2. Click Connect Stripe from your account dashboard.
  3. Complete identity verification with Stripe.
  4. Add your bank details.
  5. Start receiving payouts.

🌍 Stripe Country Availability – Special Regions

Stripe continues to expand its global payment network. While many countries enjoy full support, some regions are currently classified as Extended Network or Preview countries. These designations mean that onboarding and payouts are available, but certain features may be limited or restricted depending on local banking and regulatory conditions.

Providers located in Extended Network countries can create a Stripe account and accept payments on Surfkin; however, some payout or banking features may be restricted compared to fully supported regions.

What this means for providers:

  • ✅ You can onboard with Stripe and receive payments
  • ✅ Payouts may be transferred to supported local bank accounts
  • ⚠️ Payout processing times may be longer than usual
  • ⚠️ Banking options can be limited
  • ⚠️ Certain Stripe features (including instant payouts or local payment methods) may not yet be available
  • ⚠️ Additional identity or business verification may be required

Stripe continues expanding services in these countries, with support improving as new financial partnerships become available.


Preview Countries

(Early access with restricted or limited feature support)

Preview countries have access to Stripe onboarding during early rollout stages. Some accounts in these regions may not yet be fully activated for payouts until Stripe completes infrastructure and regulatory approval locally.

What to expect:

  • ⚠️ Onboarding may be available in testing or early-access mode
  • ⚠️ Payouts might be delayed or unavailable until full activation
  • ⚠️ Certain business types or account structures may not be supported
  • ⚠️ Local bank connections may still be pending
  • ⚠️ Additional compliance checks may be required

Providers from these regions are welcome to register interest on Surfkin; however, full payout capability depends on Stripe's ongoing regional rollout.

Stripe controls regional eligibility and payout availability. Surfkin does not determine country support or payout timelines. Eligible countries and features may change as Stripe expands its global network.


Payout Schedule

Once your Stripe account is fully verified:

  • Payouts are automatically sent to your bank account.
  • Typical payout timing is 2–7 business days (may vary by country and bank).
  • Your first payout may take slightly longer due to initial verification checks.

Fees & Commission

Platform Commission

Surf Kin charges a commission on each completed transaction which covers the Bank transaction fee.
Commission rate: *3.8%

Payment Processing Fees

Stripe is covered by this commission rate.

Fees vary depending on currency, country, and card type.


Verification & Required Documents

Stripe requires all sellers to verify their identity. This usually includes:

  • Legal name and residential address
  • Date of birth
  • Government photo ID (passport or driver’s license)
  • Business details (if applicable)
  • Bank account information

These checks are required by financial regulations to keep the marketplace safe.


Why Does Stripe Need My Information?

Financial laws require payment processors to verify the identity of account holders to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other financial crime.

Stripe securely stores your information and complies with global privacy and security standards.


What Happens If Verification Is Incomplete?

If Stripe needs additional information:

  • You will see a prompt in your Stripe onboarding or dashboard.
  • Payouts may be paused until your verification is completed.
  • You can update documents or details directly through Stripe.

Account Re-Verification

From time to time, Stripe may request updated information due to:

  • Expiring identity documents
  • Regulatory changes
  • Changes to your account details

Completing updates promptly ensures uninterrupted payouts.


Refunds & Disputes

  • Customers may request refunds through SurfKin.
  • Stripe handles chargebacks and dispute processes.
  • In some cases, sellers may be asked to provide evidence to resolve disputes.

Taxes

Sellers are responsible for reporting and paying their own taxes according to local laws.

SurfKin and Stripe do not provide tax advice.

Why can’t I connect Stripe from my country?

Stripe only supports payouts in specific countries due to banking and regulatory restrictions.


How long does onboarding take?

Most sellers complete onboarding in 5–10 minutes. Verification review can take a few hours to 1–2 business days.


Can I change my payout bank details?

Yes — you can update your bank information at any time through your connected Stripe dashboard.


What if I don’t complete Stripe onboarding?

Payments cannot be processed until onboarding is finished.


Is my personal data secure?

Absolutely. Stripe follows strict security standards and does not share sensitive identity information with SurfKin.
